beautiful pictures...

We have such an amazing church! After almost 6 weeks people are still bringing us meals, it has been so wonderful and I can't thank them all enough. Yesterday my new friend Alison came over to bring us dinner and just happens to be an amazing photographer and brought her camera along! I was so excited to have the babies pictures taken by her. Here are a few she emailed to me last night. Brad and I just love them! Lilly didn't mind at all, but poor Asher just didn't like being stripped down to just his diaper but he still did ok. So thank you Alison for yesterday, I so appreciated it and enjoyed it and thank you to my church for all the meals that have been brought to us and the prayers that are being lifted up for us.

Love to you,

Amy

Play time...

They are changing so much!

I was just looking at pictures of the twins while they were in the hospital and the first week we brought them home, wow! time is just flying and they are changing so much already. Asher is getting quite the double chin and Lilly is getting some cheeks on her! It reminded me to cherish everyday (not that I don't) but just not to get stressed about Asher's cyring so much and just enjoy them.

My fussy baby boy

Well, yesterday we tried naps in their crib and Lilly did really well, falling asleep on her own, pretty quick. Ash on the other hand did not. he would fall asleep for not even 5 min. then wake up crying again, he did that until the next feeding for 2 naps in a row. I was trying not to go in and pick him up so he can learn to fall asleep on his own and get used to his crib, so we would go in and rub his belly or head and leave again. This didn't work, so eventually I went and got him, it was just too hard. I know I will get used to leaving them in there, but I guess trying it for the first time was hard with him crying so much. Nights are usually equally as challenging with him either crying after the 8pm and 11pm feedings or after the 11pm and 2am feedings. Sometimes doing the same thing, crying until it's time to eat again. But thank the Lord last night was a good night. He fell asleep pretty quick after all feedings and mommy and daddy were able to get some too! It's really hard when your living in the moment to look beyond and just know that it will get better and not always be like this, I have Brad to keep me grounded, he is way better at seeing it that way. I am so praying that he gets over this quickly and learns that when we lay him down it's time to go to sleep! So this morning they are taking naps in their bouncy seats again, I am going to try the crib for the next nap, but will admit I am nervous because I just want it to go smoothly!

the babies try out their crib!

The twins are sleeping in our bedroom with us in a pack'n play crib, then taking their naps in the living room usually in bouncy seats. I think we may start having them take naps in their big crib, they were small enough to sleep in a bassinet together, but those days are over! They will be sharing a crib for now, we'll see how long we can hold off having to put another one up!

Trip to the Dr.

We took Asher to the Dr. today because the last couple of weeks he has been crying while drinking his bottle. He would drink some (while grunting the whole time!) and then just start crying with this painful look on his face and then cry the whole time we burbed him too. We started to think it might be acid reflux or something so the Dr. wanted to see him. Apparently the boy is just extra gasy and fussy and may even be eating a bit too much! The Dr. suggested we cut back a little on his ounces, which will be interesting because he sometimes acts hungry after we feed him already, but we'll see how it goes. I guess the Dr. was a bit suprised by his weight since the last visit! He now weighs 8 lbs! I wasn't expecting to hear that either. So he is healthy and gaining, that's for sure! Lilly didn't get checked out, but I wish now we would have asked them to at least weigh her too, but we go back in like 3 weeks now for their 2 month ck-up. Anyway, here are a couple of pics in their cute little hats.
