MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Christmas Eve with some more awesome friends...

Last night our friends Joel and Anita invited us over to spend Christmas Eve with their family. It was great spending time with them and their two daughters. We got to watch the girls open their stockings and a gift, so cute! They are such good friends and we love them dearly. It was great of them to invite us over to have dinner and share that night with us. We also got a huge surprise from them. This was waiting for us in their den by the Christmas tree, decorated by the girls with bowes and ribbons. Needless to say were were so surprised and so greatful. What a gift for the babies! So thank you so much to Joel and Anita and Joels mom and dad, we really still can't believe you guys did that.

I can't believe what awesome friends we have!

My friend Gina and her mom came over on Friday to give me a special gift! Some of you will remember writing a message to Lilly and Asher on quilt squares at my showers...Gina's mom made the quilts and I wanted to post a few pictures. These are so precious to me and I know will be to the babies as well. 8 years ago at Gina's baby shower, her mom had made one of these keepsake quilts for her daughter Ireland and at the shower I had said whenever I get pregnant I would love to have one! Well Gina's mom rememebered that all those years ago! I can't thank her enough, these are so special!! Also, Gina painted on the nursery wall for me. (Her and her mom are quite the creative duo!) Gina also made 2 scrapbooks for me that I will take pictures of and post to. Ok...so here is their handy work!

32 weeks! 5 more left...

Just returned from an appt. so thought I would give a quick update on the Beckey twins! First of all about mommy...the Dr. is putting me on medication to slow/stop the contractions and cramping I have been having. I haven't been having horrible ones or anything, just the braxton hicks, but more frequently. So just as a precautionary, because we need the babies to wait to come till 07, I start that medication tonight. He is still reassuring us he thinks the awaited moment will be the 2nd or 3rd week in January. Sleep is a thing of the past for me. I guess in one way it's good because God is preparing me for the sleepless nights ahead that come with having twins. I actually dread laying down and going to bed because the second I lay down I am uncomfortable! That's ok though! I am happy to be doing it for our babies! Daddy update...Brad has been sick since Thursday, so prayers for him are much appreciated. Ok...now for the wee ones. Although we got an ultrasound today, no ultrasound pictures to send out! Neither baby would turn their heads to get even a remotely good picture. The ultrasound tech tried and tried but their heads are just in a position that wasn't "facing the camera". They have shifted a little. Lilly is bottom down now, so she is totally breech. She is sort of diagonal in my belly with her bottom down and head up towards my right. Asher is still laying across my belly, head on the right and bottom on the left, so their little heads are together!! So not only were we not able to get a shot of their faces, but when she moved the ultrasound down and found a hand, little Miss Lilly was giving us the bird! Guess she told us! We are excited about how much they weigh now, Lilly is 4.2 lbs. and Ash is 4.9, so he passed her up again. We do have another appt. next Tues. AND another ultrasound, so maybe this one will be better and we'll have some pictures to share! Well...that's all for now, hope everyone has a Merry Merry Christmas and we'll miss seeing our family! We love you!

Monday morning...

Well, the day has arrived! My last day of work to finish growing these beautiful babies at home! It will be so good to just relax at home and lay around with my feet up. Monday morning will be very strange though when the alarm clock goes off for Brad and I realize I get to stay in bed! (sorry honey! I know you are so so happy for me though.) The babies will be here before we know it. Christmas is just around the corner so that will make it go even faster, then BAM! it will be time to meet our babies! It's hard to believe that something we have wanted and waited (and prayed for!) for 8 years is just weeks away. Brad was just saying last night that he knew all along that God had promised us a child and here He has blessed us with two! We couldnt' be more greatful, because I honestly don't know if we could have gone thru all we went thru to get pregnant again. God's plan is always perfect.

We had dinner last night with our awesome friends Russ and Lisa who moved from Nashville to Kansas City forever ago! We miss them so much , it was so good to see them. Lisa made the babies two CUTE blankets that were just precious! (thanks again Lisa, we love ya'll!) I love how everytime we see them it seems like no time has passed at all. We just pick up where we left off like they haven't been gone for years. Anyway....guess what? It's 5:00 and I'm outta here! Talk to everyone later!!

Only 7 more weeks...

Today I am 30 weeks! I remember thinking "I will not be able to believe it when I get to 30 weeks" and here I am...wow. I will be posting a 30 wk belly picture soon!! We'll take it this weekend and get it up. This belly of mine is really getting out of control, I know I will probably be eating my words here in a couple of weeks but Brad and I are amazed that I don't have stretch marks yet?? I keep looking for them every few days thinking...ok today is the day, nothing.....YET! It's way harder now for me to get out of bed, get up off the couch (almost always need Brad's help). Poor guy, he is so good to me, such a great husband. He makes my breakfast and dinner. Puts my socks on for me, well, helps me get dressed in general actually. I am quite the needy pregnant wife at the moment! Monday is my next Dr. appt. and I am hoping to get the date for my c-section. I won't be getting an ultrasound this visit, just the Dr. checking everything. Then Tuesday is our last birthing class and we'll get the tour of the hospital! Oh, I almost forgot!! There has also been a change to my last day of work from Dec. 15th to Dec. 8th! So next Friday is my last day. I don't think that has hit me yet at all. Well that's all for now...check back this weekend sometime for the new picture! (and I just realized in my last entry that I said I would get a 29 week belly pic up...sorry that didn't happen! I will get the 30 week up though, really!)

Love to you

Dr. appt. on Nov. 20th...

Hi everyone, I hope that you all are excited about Thanksgiving coming up! I know I am just because of the 4 day weekend! We will miss being with family this year but our great friends Rob and Gina have invited us over to their house for Thanksgiving, otherwise it would have been Cracker Barrel! So thanks again Rob and Gina, we appreciate it so much. So....we had our appt. yesterday, the ultrasound was great, little Lilly has caught up to her brother and they both weigh about 3lbs 2 ounces!! Our precious little ones are getting so big! Lilly is no longer head down, she moved back to her original position, so they are both laying across my belly (back to bunk bed positions) with heads at opposite ends, so...c-section it is! He said with how big they are and getting, they probably won't move much from this position as far as being head down. So that being confirmed, is fine with us, we were sort of expecting a c-section anyways. Some new developments ...I am showing tiny tiny, small signs of pre-term labor, my uterus is contracting just a little because it thinks with how big it is , it's ready! He measured me and I am measuring what a full term pregnant woman would be with 1 baby....plus 1 month! so 10 months! The signs of pre-term labor are not bad enough for him to put me in the hospital on medication to stop it yet, so that is the good news. He says only about 2-3 more weeks of work for me so Dec. 15th will be my last day here at work. The Dr. said I will notice a big difference in my cramping that I am having if I get plenty of rest and put my feet up with this 4 day weekend coming up. I was trying to walk here at work on my breaks, but no more of that! It made me a little nervous to hear, of course that I am showing small signs of pre-term labor at 28 weeks, so I know we have lots of prayers being lifted up for us and please continue to do so these next few weeks. Ideally the Dr. wants them hopefully to make it to 37 weeks at least. So these babies have got to stay put for now! We believe and know God is completely in control and will see us and the babies thru all of this. We are so incredibly thankful and look so forward to what He has in store for our soon to be family of 4! Check back sometime this weekend for a 29 wk belly picture! Have a happy Thanksgiving!

... 28 wks today, the start of my 7th month!

It's hard to believe that today I started my last trimester. We are really enjoying feeling them move and bump around, which happens quite often! Pretty soon I think they will start running out of room and we may not feel them as much. With the holidays coming up, I'm sure it will make these last few months go by even faster and they will be in our arms before we know it! We washed a couple of loads of baby clothes, onesies, etc...last night which kept us smiling! It was fun to look at all of it and know we were getting them ready for the babies. It was still so unreal to hold stuff up that was for a boy AND a girl, every once in a while we still find ourselves asking each other "can you believe we are having twins?!" It's such a sweet thought, we love it! Well my next Dr. appt and ultrasound will be Monday the 20th. We are excited to see them again on ultrasound and hoping she does another 3D! I have read in my book the babies are around 3 lbs. at 28 weeks, so we will see if that is true with our little preciouse ones.

My friend Jenny sent me this quote...and I just loved it. "Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your
body." I just have so much love for these babies already. Well until Monday, you all have a great weekend! Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week??

Love to you

27 wk belly pics....

Here are some new pictures of the ever growing belly! I am constantly getting stuff on my shirts now, it has become an everyday occurrence from brushing my teeth in the morning and getting toothpaste on my protruding belly to eating, at least one meal a day will guarantee a stain! The nursery is now full of shower gifts that need to be organized, washed and put away and time is already flying! Sometimes I will look around at what all needs to be done thinking I have all this motivation and energy to do it, and then go lay on the couch instead! Oh there is a small bump in the road that we were made aware of last week in this otherwise greatfully, mild twin pregnancy of mine...I found out I have developed gestational diabetes. So tomorrow Brad goes with me to meet with a diabetes counselor to learn when, what and how much to eat, I have to totally change my diet as well as prick my finger 4 times a day to ck my levels. UGH! The day I found out, I really struggled with the news although I know it goes away in most cases after the pregnancy. I think it was just such a shock to me because everything has been going so well. But I soon realized after a few encouraging talks with family that it's not the end of the world and isn't as devastating as it seemed that day of finding out. I would still appreciate your prayers, I'm sure not looking foward to pricking my fingers 4 times a day! Love to you all!!!

First of all, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! I can't believe it's October 31st. I had my first shower this past saturday in Indiana with family and friends. It was great! There was about 30 people there. My sisters and mom did a great job with the shower and I appreciated it so much. We got lots of wonderful gifts! I opened gifts while Brad entertained everyone being the funny guy he is!We were so excited to get back home to TN on Sunday to look thru everything again, I couldn't believe our living room was full of baby stuff that was ours!

We also start our first birthing class tonight and are so excited to see what that is all about. I do know we'll get a tour of the hospital which I am looking forward to. Well, that's all for now...I will be posting more pictures from the shower so keep checking!! Love to you all!

25 weeks Thursday...

tomorrow i'll be 25 weeks. i can't wait to hold these precious babies and kiss their little heads but at the same time i can't imagine not having them in my belly moving around and making me smile. i have heard that some women miss that and now that they have started moving more and more i can for sure see why. i can't even put into words how i feel about these babies and how both are so precious to me. my baby boy that i talk to everyday and wonder if he will look like his daddy. my sweet baby girl i talk to everyday and wonder if she will have mommy's eyes. they have already brought such incredible joy to our lives and just knowing that joy will increase even more when they arrive. we had a Dr. appt. on Monday and everything went just wonderfully. The Dr. said the babies are doing so great! as far as growth -baby asher weights 1 lb. 12 ounces and little miss lilly weighs 1 lb. 10 ounces. so baby brother is just a tad bigger, which is so sweet, my mom said you can for sure tell who is boss though on the ultrasound pictures lilly has her feet all in his face just stretching out as much as she pleases! it was so cute. right now lilly is head down which the Dr. said is good and asher is not quite there yet, but he said that was ok and normal for now. Talk of a c-section did come up and we'll discuss it further at our next appt. in two weeks. (i start going every two weeks now! yipeeeee!) If i do have one, he takes twins 3 weeks earlier then the due date which would mean them being here around jan. 20th give or take a few days. I will try and get my 25 week belly picture up tomorrow. I will be seeing some of you this saturday at my first shower in indiana! I will also get some pictures up of the nursery soon. love to you all

23 weeks today...

See how fast a week goes by! You know I was just thinking about how I can't believe I'm pregnant, I can't believe when I look in the mirror, that is me I am seeing with a big belly full of babies! It took so long that I'll admit sometimes it seemed like a dream that was so out of reach for Brad and I. It was such a hard hard thing to go thru and I'm so thankful God was with us every step of the way even though sometimes It didn't feel like it. He brought us thru so much and gave us this huge blessing, my joy is so real.

22 wk pictures...

Boy I sure didn't realize how much I had grown in just two weeks until we took these pictures and looked at my 20 wk pictures! I needed to feel pretty with how big my belly is getting so we took some fancier belly pics this time! haha! We still need to take some pictures of the two of us together in the coming weeks. And yes that is my belly button starting to pop out already, that just started so I'm trying to get used to that. ...Still loving being pregnant!! We did lots of work on the nursery this weekend so I will get some pictures up of that. Our next appt. and ultrasound pics will be Oct. 23rd. We can't wait to see them again and how much they have changed and grown. Love to you all!!

Just how big is this thing gonna get? But I am loving every minute of it! Brad and I are going to try and take lots of pictures this weekend since it's gonna be so nice outside, we'll venture outdoors for the next belly pictures!... so check back on Monday to see what we come up with!

Daddy felt a baby...

Well we have been trying to put Brad's hand on my belly for about the past week to see if he could feel anything and nothing...until last night! He was able to feel "a" baby twice!! Not sure which one it was because it was right in the middle so it could have been either. He felt 2 thumps! I will never forget the look on his face either. I was laying on the couch and feeling really good movements so I told him to hurry up and come over. It only took a few seconds for one to move again, it was so sweet. It was so special for both of us and we'll never forget it. I could tell he felt such a connection that was much more real since being able to feel one. These babies are going to love their daddy so much!!

So Happy!...

Wow! I went from being able to feel the babies every couple of days to all of the sudden this week, it's been everyday and it's been wonderful! It started on Sunday when we were in church, I noticed lots of movement, not during the singing, which is what you would think, but during the pastor talking. And now it's been everyday that I have felt them several times a day! AND....today...I felt little lilly move from the outside with my hand! That is the very first time and now I hope she does it again so I can get home and put Brad's hands on my belly for him to feel! I noticed after lunch they were really getting active and I felt a couple of big thumps so I put my hand where she is and there she went again! It was so amazing. There were other people in the room with me eating and talking and here I am laughing to myself and smiling really big! They probably thought I was crazy. Anyway....just wanted to share that moment with you all. I go back to the Dr. Oct. 23rd and I'll take another belly picture then as well!! Take care-

You may not be able to tell it's bigger...but WE CAN!

Well....here it is folks...my 20 wk belly picture. I am really enjoying being pregnant...have only had 1 case of this heartburn stuff I always hear about during pregnancy. By the way, that is really painful, I had no idea!! I can feel them usually after I eat, especially after supper at night. Lilly had some really good movements the other night, I knew it was her because it was really low and she is the one on the bottom. We hope you all have a good weekend...we are going to do a little more work on the nursery so hopefully I'll have more pics to post.

Love to you all!

saw the Dr. today

Just a quick update on our Dr. appt. today. We had an ultrasound last week but didn't see the Dr. so we went back today for our reg. appt. and saw him. We heard the heartbeats, that is always fun!! Everything is going really well. I can't believe I only have about 20 more weeks to go! (give or take a few since it's twins) We did find out that Oct. 28th (which is my baby shower in Indiana) will be the last trip we can make before the babies are born, no going home for the holidays which will be really different for us since we spend Thanksgiving and Christmas in Indiana! We are going to look into birthing classes next month and are excited to see what that is all about and to get the tour of the hospital. Stay tuned....

Love,

Brad and Amy

(P.S. that is not a recent picture of me! a new belly pic will be coming by this Friday!!)

I had an ultrasound scheduled for the 18th but I went yesterday (Wednesday) instead. Everything is great! Their growth is right at 19 weeks (what I am today, wow!) They both weigh 11 ounces and were moving like crazy, although I'm still not feeling it all that much, but I do feel some. She was able to get a good profile pic of each of them so as soon as I get them scanned to be able to put them on this blog page you can see how cute they are! We could see their tiny noses and lips, CUTE!! Oh and one of the first questions I asked was, "is one still a girl"? Just because she couldn't tell as well as she could the boy last time, so I had these thoughts of going back in and her saying, "well you have two boys"! That would have been quite the shock! So since it was confirmed again I will go ahead and share the names with those of you who haven't yet heard. Baby girl is Lilly Emma Daisy and baby boy is Asher James Vincent. (we'll be calling them Lilly and Asher). Daisy is my grandmother and James is one of Brad's grandfathers and Vincent is the other. I have also posted a picture of two little onsies we couldn't resist buying...daddy can't wait to put the babies in them, you will see why! Love to you all, thanks again for all the prayers being lifted up for us.

the growing belly...

Well, I think my the last picture of my belly was at 11 wks...this one is 17 wks... almost half way there! We are doing good, I am feeling better and only get sick feeling every once in a while. I'm starting to feel them move a little bit. Just tiny flutters and flip/flop feelings. I love it! I really want to feel them even more. Our next ultrasound is Sept. 18th so hopefully I'll have more ultrasound pics. There is also a picture of our changing table and crib, we got the bedding for it already, no mattress yet, but of course I couldn't wait to put the bedding on to see what it looked like! Love to you all!!

It's me, with the baby(ies) update. We just got back from the Dr. Had an ultrasound this morning, the babies look great! Their growth is right at 16 weeks, which is what I will be this Thurs! They are moving and have strong heart beats, although I haven't felt them yet, the Dr. said it will be anytime. (I can't wait!!) Well...we also found out if we can start looking at blue stuff or pink stuff! We are very excited to share with you that we are having a ..............................baby GIRL and a ...........................baby BOY!!! We are so overwhelmed and excited! You could really tell baby "B" was a boy, there was no question! And there wasn't anything to indicate on the other baby (baby "A") that it was a boy, like on baby "B". The lady that did our ultrasound said she thought it was pretty safe to tell everyone it is a girl. The babies are still on top of one another like bunk beds and are facing opposite directions. it was so cute. Here is my 11 week picture a little late! We couldn't be happier!!!

2nd ultrasound and my did they look different!

Hi everyone!! It's the excited parents to be!! The babies are starting to look more and more like babies then little beans! Actually we couldn't believe how much they had grown and turned into these tiny beings with arms and legs. Everything is coming along just fine, they are growing and have strong heartbeats. Yesterday was amazing...the ultrasound tech was showing us the heartbeats and both babies were still. Then all of the sudden the baby that is on bottom (they are on top of one another like bunkbeds!) started moving like crazy! Brad and I could not stop giggling. It was the absolute coolest thing I have ever seen. So since the bottom baby started moving and stretching, that made the top baby start moving. It really was an incredible site to see. We were not expecting to see them move! I love them so much!

Love to you all,

Brad and Amy

So Blessed...

I thought I would start a blog page for friends and family to log onto to see how we are coming along with this twin thing! I know lots of you have emailed me wanting to keep updated on photos, info...so lets see if this works.

I am now into my 2nd trimester!! so crazy how fast it's going! I think my morning sickness is pretty much over with although this week I have felt sick a couple of times but nothing like it was. Now I am just ready to enjoy being pregnant and looking so forward to feeling these little darlings move in my belly. I can't wait! Brad read them a book today, it was so sweet. We find ourselves still constantly looking at my belly smiling in disbelieve. It's so amazing and I love watching it grow! (I say that now of course). Well here are a few photos of me at 8 weeks, the second is of me at 11 weeks and then I thru in there a picture of our first purchase for the babies, the changing table. We were given a gift certificate from some family in Michigan and thought we would get one of our big items we needed that we more then likely won't get at a shower. I peek in their room often, just too see how cute it's going to be!
